Another major tourist destination near the Berkshire town of Windsor is Legoland which opened in 1996 on the site of the old Windsor Safari Park. In the same Berkshire borough as these two tourist attractions is the town of Maidenhead. The town of Maidenhead is the home to a bridge that was first constructed in 1280. The bridge that stands there now was constructed in 1777.
Bracknell, a new town which was designated in 1949, was planned for a population of 25,000 but now has a population double the size.
Sandhurst is a Berkshire town which is home to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Prince Harry and Prince William have been to the academy.
Wokingham is a civil parish and a market town in Berkshire. The town was ranked as the number 1 place to live in the UK in 2007 by the Halifax building society.
