Norfolk is a region in East Anglia which shares the bulk of its border with Suffolk. Norfolk’s county town is Norwich and the county’s populace is around 800,000. The county of Norfolk’s income is dominated by agriculture and tourism.

During ninth century the county of Norfolk was stormed by the Vikings who killed King Edmund and by the 16th century the town of Norwich was the second largest city in the United Kingdom. The city was ranked the most environmental in the United Kingdom in 2006

A well known resident of the town of Norfolk is Alan Partridge, Steve Coogan’s fictional character who hosted a radio show on the fictitious Radio Norwich in the 1990s.

Kings Lynn is a well known town in Norfolk that was extremely vital to the United Kingdom in Medieval times because of its port. The land the town is built on became royal property in 1538, hence the name. King’s Lynn was the first to install city centre CCTV – back in 1987.

One of the county of Norfolk’s most prominent shore lieing towns is Great Yarmouth – home of the Great Yarmouth cup – a well known football competition. The novel David Copperfield by Charles Dickens uses Great Yarmouth as a location within it.

Diss is a Norfolk town that is on the border with Suffolk. The town’s newspaper, the Diss Express was formed in 1864.

In the north of Norfolk lies the town of Fakenham which has an unjust reputation of being boring because of a miss-quoted guide book article.  After someone had written in to a guide book claiming that Fakenham was the most boring location on Earth, a newspaper took the story forward and went to press that the location had been “voted” the most boring location on the planet. This miss-representation led to the county council‘s expenditure going through the roof proving that the Norfolk town was not really boring at all.

Downham Market is a town that sits in the area of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.

Thetford sits between The town of Norwich and the city of London on the A11 and was the place for the external scenes of Dad’s Army – the BBC1 TV series. About 22,000 people live in the area, of which an unusually high 30% are thought to be of Portuguese descent!

Wymondham in the town of Norfolk was the scene of a great conflagaration in 1615 which was started by 3 gypsies and consumed 300 properties.
