The Kevin Costner and Alan Rickman film in the early 90's was a popular Hollywood take on the story. Alan Rickman’s part was originally meant to be played by Richard E Grant who had to turn down the movie due to Hudson Hawk’s shooting over-running. Some of the film was shot in the Nottinghamshire woodland.
