County Carlow is a land-locked county in south Eire. Saoirse Ronan is a famous child actress from County Carlow. She became the fifth youngest person ever to be nominated for an Oscar after her appearance in the film Atonement.
On the south east coast of Eire is County Wexford. Filmed on beaches in county Wexford were the opening scenes for “Saving private Ryan”. Another fact about County Wexford is that the Blue Whale skeleton that can be seen in London’s Natural History Museum was found on Wexford Bay.
