Yeovil, in south Somerset, was at the centre of the glove making industry in the mid-1800’s. In 2006, Yeovil became the first town in the UK to introduce a biometric fingerprints scanning system into its nightclubs. In the system, anyone who wants to go into a Yeovil nightclub has to fill in their details for a central database, and then each time they enter a nightclub, they have to “sign in” using their fingerprint.
