Worcestershire is a county with just one city – Worcester. The accent of the people of Worcestershire ranges from West Country to Birmingham and the county shares a border with six other counties. Malvern is well known for its hills which are called the Malvern Hills. C.S .Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, authors of the Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings, respectively, used to spend time together on these Worcestershire hills. The town was also significant for its role in the growth of radar.
Redditch is home to the UK’s first female home secretary – Jacqui Smith. Redditch has 9 hundred acres of open park space and has a countryside centre which opened in 2000.
