Between the counties of Conwy and Flintshire is the County of Denbighshire. The main town of Denbighshire is Ruthin – the actor Rhys Ifans had his childhood home there – Rhys Ifans has appeared in many well known films including Notting Hill, Shipping News, Twin town, Enduring love to name just a few.
In the north Wales area of Clwyd is the county Borough of Conwy. With a population of 4000 people the main town and administrative HQ is also called Conwy. Other towns in Conwy include Betws-y-Coed, Llanrwst, Llandudno, Llanfairfechan, Llandudno Junction, Llanrwst, Colwyn Bay, Penmaenmawr and Abergele.
The north Wales mountain range of Snowdonia has been a national park since 1951 and is home to around 26,000 people. 1m shorter than Table Mountain in South Africa Mount Snowdon weighs in at 1085 m high and is the tallest mountain in Snowdonia.
